Hopewell Elementary School Dress Code 2015-2016 The Covington County School District has adopted a dress code and each student who attends school within this district will be expected to follow the guidelines. The following items are NOT allowed:
· Extreme make up
· Patches or emblems
· Clothing that exposes the midriff
· See-through clothing
· Floor length coats (NO trench coats)
· Mini-skirts, halter tops, or shorts that are shorter than fingertip length
· Hats, caps, sweatbands, bandanas, do-rags, or skull caps
· Garments which are considered underclothing.
· Leggings or jeggings
· Clothing that depicts or incites violence
· Lack of undergarments
· Oversize clothing of any type
· Shirts with spaghetti straps
· Tank tops
· Visible body piercings
· Oversize jewelry
· Extremely tight clothing
· Ripped, ragged, or torn clothing
· Pajamas or gowns
· Any item which promotes violence, gangs, racism, witchcraft, Satanism, Neo-Nazism, or paraphernalia that is deemed disruptive or inappropriate by school administration.
The following types of footwear are NOT allowed:
· Shower shoes, house shoes, slippers, beach shoes, rubber shoes, shoes with cleats, or shoes with wheels.
The school’s administration reserves the right to make any decision necessary for the best interest of the students and which will protect the image of the school and community.
DISCIPLINE LADDER FOR DRESS CODE VIOLATIONS
Grades Kinder – 12th
1st Offense Written notice or verbal contact
2nd Offense Parent contact or parent conference
3rd Offense Parent contact and/or Detention and/or 1 day Suspension
4th Offense Parent contact and/or Alt. School Referral
